Chill Out Logistics started in 2016 when an opportunity arose to transport ice-cream for a major, well-known brand. The company is owner run, which means that matter how large we become, we will always take a ‘small business’ approach to customer service. Face-to-interactions and personalised attention to detail are, and always will be, integral to our businesses’ success.
At its core the business is about storing and distributing a wide range of food products at optimal temperatures, however at its heart Chill Our Logistics is about ensuring health and safety compliance, quick turnaround times and efficient service that enables our customers to exceed their clients’ expectations.

All stock that moves through the store is labelled and tracked via our innovative warehouse management system.
Customers receive a detailed stock report weekly, and historical temperature data can be provided to any client that needs it for compliance purposes.
The air cooled condensing tower in our storage facilities ensures that temperatures of -18°C to -30°C are maintained at all time to adhere to best practice cold-chain requirements.
We believe in sustainability and observe various energy saving, water saving, and environmental initiatives in our cold-storage facilities.
The plant is controlled by an innovative online system to ensure that our technicians and managers have constant access to information on the health of the plant and can monitor the room remotely.
The control room is electronically monitored 24 hours a day. In the event of a fault, the systems sends out early warning emails to alert the relevant response engineers to immediately take action and minimise down time. Dedicated engineers are on standby to rectify faults long before they can affect the temperature in the cold-storage facility.
An alarm system triggers SMS alerts to all key management and a dedicated electrician in the event of power trips and if the generator does not start up immediately. In this instance a standby generator is activated to mitigiate risks of down time or product losses.

CHILL OUT LOGISTICS is a purpose-built cold storage facility which opened its doors in May 2016. We offer primary storage of frozen products in our 850 pallet store, based in Ottery, Western Cape. We pride ourselves in having a focused hands-on team, offering our clients turn-around and an efficient and professional service.
